Kevin and Matthew grew up together and have been friends through their whole education, they went to primary school and are about to both go to the same university to pursue a career in sports, however the summer before they are due to enrol, there is a dramatic turn of events. One of Kevin's best friends is very badly injured due to racial violence by one of the racist gangs in the area who have a dislike towards black people. Still quite shaken up by recent events, Kevin begins to start acting differently, not hanging out with Matthew as much as he used to due to the fact he is white and thinks Matthew is somehow to blame. The tensions begin to rise between the two as Kevin starts to drift away more and more almost trying to completely cut him off from his life, Matthew is still quite confused as to why his childhood friend is no longer speaking to him and tries to reach out but still nothing. A week before they are both due to go off to University Matthews mother decides to throw a leaving party for the two boys and Kevin really doesn't want to go, but his mother forces him too anyways. At the party Kevin tries to distance himself from everyone due to the majority of the people being there are Matthew's family and with Kevin having an almost vendetta against white people. At the party Kevin recognises a boy from the gang who hurt his friend, he is in fact one of Matthews friends, how will Kevin react to this ? Will he suddenly lash out and take out his anger at the party?
