I am butterfly is a short film about a little girl named Butterfly who is abandoned by her mother in public.
In the film the girl (Butterfly) is narrating the story over the film which makes it seem as if you are watching events from her point of view which is effective as it makes the film feel more personal.
One method in the film which I thought was quite effective was the way in which the portrayal of the mother was made to show her as betraying her daughter, and Butterfly being stuck behind the glass trying to gain her mothers attention was quite a powerful scene as it showed how powerless she was to the whole situation.
The situation in this film is quite normal but as the film continues the way it turns out is quite unusual.
