Technology is used daily by millions of people, and it helps to influence their lives for the better. For us it would be how we could use these various technologies to our advantage in order to ensure that we could access, present and even send information in an efficient manner. For our research we relied on things like the internet of course to even carry out our research, but also things like email to share this information. Of course these tasks all had to be carried out on a computer of course in order for us to save things like pictures and videos. A computer was also used for my initial research on short films, it was essential that I researched short films as it would help to give me a better understanding of what makes a good short film and would also benefit me during the production and pre production stages as I could apply what I have learnt to these areas.
During pre-production we relied heavily on phones in order to ensure that we could communicate effectively, this meant that we used the mobile application WhatsApp to easily communicate with each other as well as sending pictures to each other to put on our blogs (storyboards, etc). We also used our phones to improvise for things we didn't have easy access to such as a microphone, so we used them to record various group discussions to put on our respective blogs. Another way we used our phones was to take photos of our location in order to see what the area we would be filming in would be like.
During the planning stage we used a website called Prezi which allowed us to create an interactive presentation of a mood board based on our initial idea for our film. I also used a piece of software called Gyazo which allowed me to select any given area on my screen and take a screenshot it, this was very time saving in the long run as it meant I didn't have to spend time cropping an image by taking an entire screenshot. I also used Twitter as a means of keeping a "mini diary" of things that I found significant during lessons or generally when thinking about things relating to media studies.
During Production there was more hardware bring used, to film we used a Canon XHA1 Camera which was the focal point of the technology as without the camera there would be no film. With this we could also plug in an external microphone which allowed us to do things like filming a shot from inside of someone outside but still have the natural sound outside due to the microphone being connected and held by another crew member outside. All of the shots were transferred from the camera tape to a Lacie External Hard Drive, which large in capacity, allowed us to add more things onto it like edited shots (colour graded, titles), as well as sound effects to add to our film as the software requires the sound to be from a consistent source. Once we had all of our shots filmed we had to edit our film together, for this we used the editing software Adobe Premiere Pro, this allowed us to re arrange our shots the way we wanted them as well as adding things such as titles. Another piece of software we used was Adobe After Effects which was used for more advanced things such as titles and colour grading as Premiere isn't very advanced in its capabilities.
In this video I explain the various techniques I used in order to achieve the final product. I used different techniques in Photoshop which helped me to creatively express myself better when creating the poster. More specifically I cover the technology I used when creating the poster for my ancillary task. I cover the different tools I used within Photoshop to help me achieve the final result I wanted.

For my evaluation tasks I relied quite heavily on Adobe Photoshop to help me create my poster and my film review. I used various techniques within the programme as well as my own knowledge of the programme to help me create what I wanted. I also used QuickTime Pro's built in screen recording feature to help me record my screen and record my voice for when I wanted to explain something that I couldn't show through text. I also used this very blog to help convert my answers , it also helps me to present my answer/s in a more technologically advanced way by allowing me to do things like embed videos. speaking of videos, YouTube also allowed me to have a platform in which to upload my video and add to my blog, and due to YouTube being quite universal now, embedding it was very simple. I used blogger as it is quite easy to use for both the user and the viewer, for me it allows me to share information on a different platform as well as make it more interactive for the user.
