The pencils in my poster are reminiscent to this scene
from the film

immediate impression that it is something to do with a school setting, the paper style title and the desk background help to show that the film is in somewhat of a school setting. The tagline "When you'll do anything for that girl" serves as a reference to the theme of our film and our main protagonist who of course will go through anything to get the girl to like him. The colours I chose were used due to the theme of our film being a ROMCOM so I used pink for the main title as a general stereotype of a ROMCOM is that it is watched by females so the pink would entice the females to watch the film. The pink in the middle is also brighter than the rest of the poster in terms of colour so it stands out, in fact it is at this point that you realise how effective the vignette is; due to it darkening the edges it brings the viewer inwards to the centre of the poster, attracting all their attention to the title and the content around it. I also think that the pencils, which are actually inspired by events that take place in the film (the pencils dropping on the floor) help to attract peoples attention as they're instantly enticed by the multiple colours that they see. Another thing that I think would help attract people with my poster is that it is relatable, the addition of an iPhone (which is used in our film) would make people stop and think that they have that phone and they could relate to the fact they share something in common with a "film star".

My film review however is slightly different with the film , the reason being that I had to pick a layout based on research I had made about other film magazines reviews' layouts, for my review I based it on MovieMaker magazine, I tried to maximise the amount of content as that is what a lot of their reviews consist of and had minimal images, one thing I tried to do was keep it well organised as all of their reviews were tidily created with the layout being clean and simple. I tried to make it relate to my poster aesthetically by making the colours similar on the layout, so I sourced the pink from my poster in Photoshop and applied it to areas which I felt was appropriate, so the bars along the top and the main title of the film, which incidentally I used the same font as the poster for in order to keep some consistency across the tasks.
